Context & goal

Jewish Agency emissaries (“Shlichim”) deployed worldwide lacked a centralized, mobile-friendly tool to access essential resources, speaker contacts, and peer connections. Existing platforms were fragmented and not optimized for on-the-go use.

Goal: Create a lightweight, mobile-first app that functions as a global directory and knowledge hub, helping shlichim quickly find information, stay updated, and strengthen community connections.

Process & contributions

Research: Conducted stakeholder interviews with shlichim, program managers, and regional directors

Pain points identified:

  • Difficulty finding relevant contacts by region/topic

  • Lack of centralized, mobile-optimized resources

  • Missed opportunities for peer support and shared learning

Benchmarking: explored NGO knowledge-sharing apps & internal directory tools

  2. Admin (needs visibility & manage entries)

The solution

The solution

Designed information architecture: Directory → Resources → Updates → Community

  • Created user flows for key tasks: finding a speaker, accessing country info, receiving notifications

  • Lo-fi wireframes → tested with 8 shlichim → iterated for clarity and speed

  • Built hi-fi mockups emphasizing clean, mobile-first UI and dark-mode accessibility

Mobile app providing:

  1. Directory: search & filter by region, expertise, and availability

  2. Knowledge hub: curated resources (policies, training docs, cultural guides)

  3. Notifications: updates from HQ, reminders, urgent alerts

  4. Community features: birthdays, shared events, optional peer stories
